Motto of JPP8

Our motto is “supiigeru”, the Japanese word for “mirror”.

This word results from the Japanese pronunciation of the Dutch word for mirror:

“spiegel”. As so, the motto reflects the long relationship

between Japan and the Netherlands.

Besides, it expresses our expectation that the stay in Japan

- as part of the JPP program -

is like a mirror for our lives as a result of the cultural differences.

In our logo, the word “supiigeru” is written in Japanese Katakana.

In the black part, the word is mirrored to visualise “supiigeru”.
